Art Wood Grant

Purpose: To provide educational opportunities for property owners, residents, and students of McKenzie County, with a statement of need.

Amount: $600 per academic year

Cultural Diversity Tuition Waiver

The Cultural Diversity Waiver is available at Williston State College to students meeting one of the following criteria:

• Cultural diversity for this policy is defined as individuals who come from historically underrepresented groups (African American, American Indian, Asian American, or Hispanic individuals of different cultural, racial, or ethnic heritage, age, persons with disabilities, and/or life experiences. International students are not included based on the intent of the State Board of Higher Education Policy 820.8 as State Board of Higher Education 820.1 provides a separate waiver program for the International students.
• American Indians are define as enrolled members of federally recognized American Indian tribes, and Alaska Natives and Villages as defined pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act; and as such constitute a political group officially recognized by the United States government. • Economically disadvantaged for this policy is defined as any individual who has a total family contribution not to exceed 25% of North Dakota resident tuition of the previous year. (Financial Aid application must be processed to determine eligibility.)

Other Criteria:

• A student with a cumulative GPA of 2.00-2.49 may be eligible for a half tuition waiver. A cumulative GPA of 2.50 or greater may result in a full tuition waiver. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 must be maintained to remain eligible.
• A student must maintain full-time enrollment status.
• The amount of the waiver may depend on other funding resources.
• Returning students must reapply.
• The priority deadline is March 15.
• Students receiving awards from other tuition assistance programs (JTPA, Voc. Rehab, etc.) may lose eligibility for the Cultural Diversity Waiver.
• The Cultural Diversity Tuition Waiver Application must be completed and submitted to the Financial Aid Office at Williston State College.

International Student Waiver

The International Student Waiver is awarded to International students attending Williston State College on a first-come, first-served basis. This waiver applies to tuition only. A recipient is responsible for all fees. International Student Waiver Application
