CSCI 101 Introduction to Computers
January 10th - May 12th
3 credits/Online

Description:
This course will address general hardware and software issues, such as terminology and environments, and applications, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and integration of these applications.

Prerequisites:   
Keyboard experience is very helpful.

Learning Outcomes (Course Objectives):
The objectives of this course are:

  1. to learn the fundamentals of Windows Vista and Office 2007;
  2. to acquaint yourself with the proper procedures to create documents, worksheets, and presentations suitable for coursework, professional purposes, and personal use;
  3. to discover the underlying functionality of Office 2003 to become more productive;
  4. to develop an exercise-oriented approach that allows learning by doing;
  5. to encourage independent study and help those who are working alone or in a distance education environment.

Faye Krogen received her B.S. in Mathematics from the University North Dakota and her M.Ed. Technology in Education from Lesley University in Massachusetts . She has taught at Williston State College since 1977.
