Course Description:
Music theory for students without an extensive background in music.

Prerequisites:
None, although a background in piano or instrumental music is helpful. |
Learning Outcomes (Course Objectives):
Students will learn the technical theory of how music works, culminating in the ability to write and harmonize a simple melody.

Homework (Workload):
Weekly CD-ROM drills and vocabulary tests. Students must read chapters to successfully complete the assignments above. |
Exams:
Proctored mid-semester exam and proctored final exam. |
