CIS 180 Creating Web Pages

Description:
This course emphasizes the theory and application of Internet-related principles and technologies in various business communication situations. Combining critical thinking with design, effective communication and presentation skills, students will explore, create, and implement various hypertextual and multimedia applications and presentations to effectively communicate information in diverse business environments.

Prerequisites:   
CIS 115 or Internet experience

Learning Outcomes (Course Objectives):
After completing this course, students should be able to:

  • Understand the importance of the Web as a medium for business communication
  • Understand the importance of effective designing and development Web sites to successful communication
  • Understand the criteria behind evaluating and designing effective Web sites
  • Understand how to effectively create digital presentations and interfaces using current web technologies
  • Understand and use various multimedia applications
  • Understand and apply human/computer interaction theories to developing and managing information projects
  • Utilize information design theory and Web technologies to develop a Web site in a project format
