A collaborative student is a student who is getting their degree from Williston State College, but taking courses at another NDUS institution within the same term. WSC, which is where you are receiving your degree from, is your home institution. The institution where you are taking a course, but not receiving your degree, is your provider institution.

The collaborative process allows the home campus to combine credit(s) from more than one institution for the purpose of financial aid. At the home campus, this produces a single billing statement and an academic record that reflects combined credits at both the home and provider institutions.
Your home institution must be Williston State College. Therefore, you must be a fully admitted student and be receiving your degree from WSC. By registering as a collaborative student, you agree to the following:

1. All credits from all NDUS institutions taken as a collaborative student, will be combined on your transcript and account charges at WSC.
2. You will pay all charges to WSC, either through Financial Aid and/or on your own.
3. Your credits will automatically be transferred to WSC at the end of the semester.
4. The credits taken as a collaborative student are essentially transfer credits from the provider institution and therefore do NOT count towards the requirement to have at least 16 credit hours from WSC to earn a degree.
5. You must follow the drop and withdrawal procedures at WSC in regard to any collaborative courses.

Due to the turnaround time for collaborative registrations, you are strongly encouraged to submit your registration before the first day of classes. All collaborative registrations must be submitted before the last day to add a WSC course. No registrations will be accepted after this date. You will receive a confirmation email from the provider campus after your registration has been completed.
